The construction of pig houses is an important link in the pig-raising process and an important prerequisite and basis for raising pigs. The first problem to be solved when we are preparing pigs is how to choose the site and build the farm. Improper selection of sites, unreasonable structure of pig houses, etc., if not corrected in time, will result in loss of growth of pigs, health of pigs, and economic benefits of pig farms. Therefore, the following common problems must be observed in the construction of new pig houses.
1, improper site selection
The location of pig houses should be as high as possible in places with high dryness, sunnyness, shelter, and quietness, and should be far away from the culture area, factories, and living areas, with few people coming and going, and clean water sources. The surrounding pig farms should be isolated with green belts. This is to prevent other livestock breeding diseases in the breeding area from spreading to their own breeding farms so as not to cause huge losses to themselves.
2, the overall layout of the farm
For ease of management and shortening the distance of transfer, the branch house should be the center. The nursery house should be close to the branch house, the young pig house should be close to the nursery house, the pig house should be next to the young pig house, and the pregnant (sowing) house should be close to the branch house. In addition to considering all-in, all-out, and point-feeding, there should also be an anatomy room, a dead-diseous pig handling room, a separate house, a manure handling area, and a maintenance and warehouse. The production area and living area should be built in the upwind position and should be separated by more than 15 meters. Disinfection facilities should be set up during this period. Production personnel should first disinfect, bathe and change clothes before entering the production area.
3, the pighouse density is too large
In order to save land and reduce input, some pig farms are simple and dense, and cannot be designed and laid out scientifically and rationally. This results in very high pig-breeding densities, high-density pigs as environmental pollution, pathogenic organisms, and inter-group interactions. Infection creates extremely favorable conditions. The distance between the pighouses is at least 8 meters and vegetation can be planted in the middle.
4, the pig house is too short
The pig house should not be too low and low is not conducive to air circulation, so that pigs cannot breathe enough fresh air. Instead, harmful gases are not easily dispersed in the pig house and can easily lead to pig disease. It is not conducive to cooling when the pig house is too short in the high-temperature pig house in summer. Therefore, when building a pig house, you must not bring yourself more losses because you want to save money.
5, small pigs' windows, no protection against mosquitoes and flies
In some pig farms, the windows are too small. In the summer, it is not conducive to ventilation and cooling. If no screens are placed, mosquitoes and flies can easily enter. Because mosquitoes and flies can transmit many diseases, this must be taken into account when building a pig house. Conditional farms can also install protective nets to prevent birds from entering the field to spread diseases.
6, improper feed slot specifications
The size of the manger should be based on the type of pig and the number of pigs. If the feed trough is too large, some piglets like to drill into the feed trough, which can cause pinching and pinching. It also tends to foul the feed, which makes it unsanitary and easy to get sick. If the feeding trough of finishing pigs is too small, the heads of the pigs that are oversized will get stuck in the trough after eating and the neck and ears will be injured.
7, unreasonable discharge of sewage
Sewer sewers should have sufficient slope to facilitate the smooth discharge of sewage. The flow of sewage should follow the principle of proximity. Do not allow the sewage to circulate in the field. It is advisable to have a sewage treatment plant in order to use it rationally to reduce environmental pollution and to keep the pig house clean.
