Policies to promote medical devices as manufacturers compete for new areas

With the promotion of a series of policies such as price cuts for pharmaceuticals and new medical reforms in the country, medical equipment has been increasingly diluted in the profits of the pharmaceutical market, making medical devices a promising market for manufacturers to test for. The support of 850 billion government funds, the market capacity of 200 billion yuan, the annual growth rate of 30%, and the number of mergers and acquisitions not less than 10 cases per year all underline the charm of this Chaoyang industry.

At present, 70% of China's medical device listed companies are diagnosed products such as Weigao, Shenzhen Mindray, Neusoft, China Resources Wandong, Anke Bio, Dean Diagnostics, Libang Instrument, Yangpu Medical, Kehua. Biological and so on. The therapeutic products listed companies only account for 10%, including Zhuhai Hejia, Lepu Medical, and minimally invasive medical treatment.

Why can Chinese medical device companies in the field of diagnosis, in the recovery of foreign brands to kill a bloody road, emerged a group of companies like Shenzhen Mindray, Neusoft, China Resources Wandong, and therapeutic products have always done little? There are three reasons :

First, the barriers to entry of therapeutic products are high, hospitals have high requirements for therapeutic products, the demand for hospitals is small, the market continues to sell, and the sustained profitability is poor, especially in the early stage of unconventional treatment equipment.

Secondly, currently China's independent innovation technologies are mainly derived from leading and authoritative hospitals and research institutes based on years of clinical experience invented minimally invasive, leading, and independent intellectual property technologies such as cochlear implants, ultrasound focusing, radio frequency ablation and other technologies. However, when the technology of independent innovation is transformed into an industry, it is influenced by factors such as capital, talents, and management, and it is not always done and is not strong enough.

Third, the country’s scientific pricing mechanism for independent innovation products, and the support for government procurement and payment (medical insurance) for independent innovation products still need to be improved. The "Government Procurement Law" clearly stipulates that government procurement should give priority to the procurement of independent innovation products under the same conditions and give price support.
