Watermelon anthrax prevention

Watermelon anthracnose is a fungal disease, which is caused by the infection of the fungus Imperfecta genus. It mainly damages the leaves and also harms stems, petioles and fruits. There are round or semi-circular brown or dark brown lesions on the edges of the seedling victim cotyledons, and often have dark brown halos on the periphery. The lesions often have small black spots or pale red sticky spots. Near the surface of the stem, the base of the stem became dark brown and curled up. Melon vines or petioles were infected. They were initially immersed in water-like yellow-brown oblong circles. They were slightly sunken and dark brown later. After the lesions had surrounded the stems for a week, the whole plant died. The leaves were infected and they were initially round or irregular with water-stained spots. Sometimes the bands appeared, and the lesions were easily broken and perforated when dry. A pink sticky material on the lesion when wet. In the beginning of the disease, the fruit was immersed in water-soaked, brownish-spotted or round-shaped spots, which often cracked. When the humidity was high, pink sticky spots appeared on the spots.

Control methods: In the absence of disease, it is optional to use 65% zein zinc WP 975-1170 g/ha, and 80% mancozeb WP 1560-2520 g/ha. In the early stage of disease, 75% tebuconazole can be used, Trifolium dispersant 113-168 g/hectare, 10% difenoconazole water dispersant 75-112 g/ha, and 25% pyraclostrobin EC 50 - 112g/ha spray, once every 7 days, 2-3 times in succession, alternating use.
